Since that simple tavern many things have changed. Caterina continued to cook for the increasing number of tourists coming to visit the coast of the Ionian Sea, and Vincenzo expanded the restaurant with the first rooms: thus, the first " Bed & Breakfast " of Ardore was born. After more than 50 years, the Hotel Panama has over four floors and 24 rooms.

Today the hotel is run by Teresa, the daughter of Caterina and Vincenzo, who together with her family and her brothers continues to carry on the tradition of her parents. What characterizes the hotel the most is its family atmosphere. Customers come in and have the feeling of being children again, as their grandmother was preparing biscuits for breakfast or homemade pasta on Sundays.

The icing on the cake is the increasing professionalism; in addition to Caterina's entrepreneurial spirit, there are years of hotel schools as well as tourims management studies of her grandchildren, thus laying the foundation to carry on the tradition of grandparents and parents.
